The Essential Voyage, 2010. During SFAI’s thesis exhibition, Vernissage, ap-art-ment chartered a small Grand Banks, The Cimba, to take people on twenty-minute cruises from Fort Mason heading towards the Golden Gate Bridge and back. During this ride, passengers listened to a sound piece, Uncle Charlie, by Cathy Fairbanks about her family’s complicated relationship with the bridge.
